After pressing edit button I don't see any tabs at top of screen, let alone privacy and reach. Maybe I have the wrong app? Or outdated app? Which leads to question as to how to tell if my app is correct or updated(icon on phone says Mastodon. I've never found anything which displays a version number)

You have to be logged in on your server's website (or web app, which is like an app version of the website). In your case, your server's website is at mindly.social

There are lots of different apps and web interfaces you can use, you can be logged in on several at once if you want to compare them. More info at fedi.tips/which-apps-can-i-use
