I don't often write messages needing content warnings.
Today 🧵, I (mis-)used that feature to pose a riddle in the warning and expose the solution in the content.
Seems to me that the text in the warning is treated a bit second class, as opposed to text in the content proper (being the object of the warning).
E.g., are @-mentions of accounts heeded occurring in the warning text?
Could one embed a picture in the warning, or do all pictures automatically go to the content?

@dj3ei I recently un-muted the .social instance but I may re-mute it as I'm getting way more reports of spam now.

Details:
It sucks to only learn about (legitimate) toots contributed by mastodon.social users to discussions I take part in, only because other people refer to those toots.
It sucks receiving spam.
It is really one of those decisions that can be taken either way.
(There exist those evil things which confront you with decisions where no choice is clean. War tends to do that really fast. Apparently, so also does spam.)

A humble request: I think of muting or un-muting mastodon.social as somewhat major. I'd appreciate your tooting about it so people following you would get to read it. What do you think?

@dj3ei agreed, I tried it to see if the balance of spam had shifted, ready to turn it back off quickly.
I didn't announce it unless I almost immediately revered the change.

AFAIK the @ mentions don't work in the warning, the warning area isn't really designed to contain content. I think you were pushing it to its limits 😁
