Föderation EN Mi 26.03.2025 16:41:56 @evan I'm in one with some rules for not talking about it. |
Föderation EN Mi 26.03.2025 17:02:45 @evan I wouldn't join one that would have me as a member 🥸🚬 |

Föderation EN Mi 26.03.2025 21:47:22 @evan I wouldn't want to belong to a club that would have me as a member |
Föderation EN Mi 26.03.2025 23:04:30 @evan I *am* a club, if you got some o' them Popeye forearms to swing me with. |
Föderation EN Do 27.03.2025 00:03:40 @evan not part of anything formally named as a club. But part of many informal and formal club-esque entities. |
Föderation EN Do 27.03.2025 03:55:07 @evan define “club”… |

Föderation EN Do 27.03.2025 04:14:14 @dmealo Wiktionary gives this definition: "An association of members joining together for some common purpose, especially sports or recreation" So you can either use that or the alternate definition: "The slice of bread in the middle of a club sandwich." |
Föderation EN Do 27.03.2025 05:25:50 @evan thanks. You taught me good. |
Föderation EN Do 27.03.2025 05:30:03 @dmealo for me, I counted clubs, associations and two political parties. It's a really good question! |
Föderation EN Do 27.03.2025 05:38:22 @evan I counted social/educational and skipped counting professional in my response, for me a division between what I associate with because I want to versus do out of career necessity. Good and thought provoking poll question. Thanks! |

Föderation EN Do 27.03.2025 18:48:23 @bobjonkman Yeah, I only picked Democrats Abroad Canada and the NDP Outremont because they are organizations I actively participate in, do calls with, go to meetings for. It feels like a club relationship, more than participation in other orgs. I left out advocacy groups I don't actively participate in, like Équiterre. I should probably do a full inventory at some point! |

Föderation EN Do 27.03.2025 04:25:21 @evan define 'belong' :) |
Föderation EN Do 27.03.2025 05:41:12 @evan hahaha! ok, i asked for that. (doesn't help me decide my answer the poll though. so many shades of belonging) |
Föderation EN Do 27.03.2025 05:43:18 @maphew for me, I thought of groups where I had a formal membership. |
Föderation EN Do 27.03.2025 05:20:53 I think I'm in about 5. I think clubs, associations, and civic groups are good for society and good for us personally. I think people should be part of more clubs. |
Föderation EN Do 27.03.2025 05:31:56 @evan This was Robert Putnam's prescription 30 years ago, it hasn't gotten old. |
Föderation EN Do 27.03.2025 08:09:21 @evan I've never been in a club and now I'm curious, what do you do in one? I mean, my understanding of a club is either a golf club for rich people like in movies or a weed club for smoking |
Föderation EN Do 27.03.2025 14:36:30 @iakobsdesamos well, in a running club, you go running. In a model trains club, you show off your model trains. In an environmental association, you go for hikes, have protests, and write letters. In a sailing club, you sail boats. |

Föderation EN Fr 28.03.2025 04:55:32 @evan My wife and I are in two bowling leagues (32 weeks from early September to late April, each once a week) but I would not have called them clubs. |
