Their voters are craving leadership to fight off tyranny on multiple fronts and the Democratic Party are like, "Maybe we could win the mid-term elections if we used more racial slurs"

Föderation EN Di 13.05.2025 02:35:31

@evan I wish they’d try building shit and helping instead.

The political platform that pairs economic populism for the majority with ignoring or even opposing basic human rights for minorities is called fascism and those who support it are the enemy.

Föderation EN Di 13.05.2025 04:50:09

@evan

What leader in the Democratic party used a racial slur or suggested using them?

Föderation EN Di 13.05.2025 06:29:05

@marymessall I'm sure many have, in public and in private, but I'm not going to depress myself by searching for them. I'm using it as an extreme example of a "pivot toward the right" strategy that would be unacceptable to anyone.

@evan

I think it would be better to use an example that's actually happened.

If Democratic party leadership actually did that, they'd lose a lot of support. Which is why they haven't, and won't.

I understand that their policies on Israel are not good. But you can criticize them for that without accusing them of stuff they didn't do. Lord knows we have enough misinformation out here already.

@marymessall great, you should definitely use an example that's actually happened when you post about it.

@evan

I just posted "I know their policies on Israel are not good."

But Trump is everything Netanyahu ever wanted. And spreading the false idea that Democrats use racial slurs helps Trump - and Netanyahu.

I know that wasn't your intent. So I think it is worth pointing out that your rhetorical flourish could have some unintentional consequences, because I think you would want to avoid those.
