I spent the last 6 years building advanced security assessment capabilities around hardware/IoT, industrial, marine OT, and x86 platforms. Before that I spent 5 years as a pentester. I excel at weird and novel stuff with no template.

I'm in the UK and I'm looking for a full-time remote role.

today's rather exhausting job: digging up an overgrown mess of grass to prep it for something decidedly less plain-boring-lawn. whoever put it down beforehand apparently used it as a rubble dump because I found everything from roof tiles to rebar in here.

didn't quite finish because that corner has been baking in the sun all day and has the worst combo of matted grass roots and subsurface rubble and stones, and I'm fully out of energy. time for a shower and some grub.

that uBlock Origin post about how to bypass YouTube's adblocker nags has been making the rounds, but it isn't the clearest in terms of steps, so here's a quick PSA:

1. click the uBO shield icon
2. click the settings button (gears)
3. go to the "Filter lists" tab
4. click "Purge all caches"
5. click "Update now"
6. now refresh the YouTube page.

every time I've seen one of the nag popups, this has instantly fixed the problem.

not super a fan of the whole "notifications now include the entire thumbnail" thing since the 4.2.0 update. takes up a lot of space and isn't really useful.

it's also kinda laggy, presumably because it's adding 20 DOM elements (incl. a large image) for every YouTube title card.
