@hacks4pancakes @Pwnallthethings god, I have a new windows 11 laptop at work and possibly my least favourite thing about it is notepad retaining my open documents between sessions.

Notepad is what I use for things that shouldn't be saved. It should not be persistent! You're undermining my data minimisation practises, Microsoft!

My recommendation to everyone in this thread: switch to Textpad.

@hacks4pancakes @Pwnallthethings I remember the first time I had to do the good ol’ Notepad Dip™️ on text that was secretly Microsoft-enhanced with invisible digital garbage.

It was in a year that started in “19”.

Some Microsoft-induced headaches never change, and the need for the Notepad Dip™️ is one of the big ones.
