(Although "wealth" is perhaps not a great metric in the first place. Going by that, a newly minted top tier uni grad with a student loan may have less "wealth" than some of the very poorest people on the planet, but nobody would regard them as poor)

Well, boomers have been around longer, giving them more time to acquire wealth. Of course, there are many other factors like Reagan's effect on the movement of wealth upwards aka trickle-down/torrent-up.
