Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 01:27:01 How to fix homelessness: free housing. How to beat bus fare evasion: free buses. Both methods cost less than punishing the poor by criminalizing and jailing them. If you don't like the idea of being taxed to implement those solutions: I don't care - it would make our society objectively better so your annoyance is a small price to pay. |

Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 03:27:34 @jf_718 Plus youโre already being taxed for the carceral infrastructure, which is a lot more expensive than just addressing the root causes. |
Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 15:16:28 @pooserville @jf_718 But they LOVE paying for punishments for anyone and everyone. |

Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 16:29:49 @pootriarch @jf_718 @scott In Seattle a couple years ago we spent $1.7 million on hazard pay for fare enforcement goons to recover $12,000 in lost fares. We are also not allowed to not do this, if we donโt waste this money on fare enforcement, the federal government will withhold even more necessary funding. This country is so cooked. |
Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 04:53:36 @jf_718 Not to mention you're already paying taxes for the roads, the street lighting etc... I notice these people never complain about that. |
Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 04:57:06 @jf_718 their annoyance is a perk, not a downside |

How to beat unemployment: How to beat predatory lending: How to beat drug dealers: It's the solution to so many problems! |

Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 05:45:23 @jf_718 and their annoyance won't last. Often, when these kind of policies are implemented, ppl experience the better life they bring and after 3-6 months consider them ' normal ' and will be very angry when they are taken away. |
Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 05:56:39 @jf_718 Agreed. I am extremely done with caring about people's worry over higher taxes. Make this stuff free and let the assets of billionaires and millionaires above the point of $999,999.99 pay for it. The entire world would improve radically. Maybe not overnight, but within, say, a week. |
Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 06:12:27 @jf_718 Hitch a ride on a trolle- oh wait, in america, we got rid of em -w- |
Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 07:39:10 @jf_718 Such people's annoyance, I submit, makes our society objectively better just in and of itself. |
Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 07:58:16 @jf_718 the bus thing would not require any tax funding, in fact it could create a tax surplus because every public bus service spends more collecting and counting fares than they make in revenue from fares. |
Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 08:31:23 @jf_718 I'd much rather my taxes go to community building than community destruction. |

Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 11:35:01 @jf_718 The idea of being taxed? You guys aren't being taxed already?! Medien: 1 |
Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 12:01:42 @jf_718 hereโs a nice bonus. One of the headaches in public transport is integrated ticketing so your ticket might cover a journey that includes train, bus and ferry. Now, if you make public transport free guess what? You get integrated ticketing at no cost! All done, all sorted. The same (free) 'ticket' gets you onto everything. ๐ |

Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 15:16:24 @jf_718 especially true seeing as how the richest people on earth aka billionaires could easily finance this worldwide by being like 0.0004% less super wealthy |
Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 17:27:36 @jf_718 isn't a political strategy of appealing to the good natures of our voters and adding in their selfish interest in more people in buses rather than cars, and in housing than highways and sideways, more likely to win than a strategy of criticizing? |
Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 17:37:23 @jayalane No. If it worked, we'd already have these these things as activists have been promoting these ideas for decades. Better to appeal to younger voters who are open to change than waste time with people already set in their ways. |
Föderation EN Do 29.08.2024 18:26:41 @jf_718 but then what will they use to scare people into compliance? |
