So my bio now displays following / follower count only if viewed in a browser.
It's a WIP by the fantastic #Snac dev @grunfink@comam.es and I'm just testing this new optional feature. I have noted that no metrics will be displayed in apps like Tusky and so on it's purely for the users public page.

As your actor object is propagated / refreshed from other instances, these values will be seen.
I still have to do some tweaks to the Mastodon API for these metrics to be published.

No worries and a big thank you from all #snac users.

Oh nice ! Strange it's not working for me on Tusky.

Not really strange, it's working as expected; that instance has known about you by asking for your actor object via ActivityPub, and this has been already implemented. But, if you use a Mastodon API client to ask for your own object, it still returns 0 counters.
Yes, it's complicated as hell. But eventually, everything will work.

can it display random numbers for these
Föderation · Mi 04.12.2024 21:38:20
I sincerely considered this option; but, given that some instances and users are now considering these 0 metrics as a sign of an untrustful account, I don't want to even imagine what they would thought about (clearly) random values.

Anyway, this will always be an opt-in toggle and disabled by default.
