Mastodon Browser version instructions.

1 - Go to Preferences.
2 - Go to Other.
3 - Make post language same as interface.

"Translate" will now appear on the bottom of your posts for your readers.

You might not see it on your posts, IDK.

You MUST save changes at top of page.

coders should make this simple and obvious. Promoted.

@kevinrns yeah I did that when I set my account up, all my posts are set to Galizan, account set to Galizan, definitely not my fault if the translator isn't working, you could've said "hey my translator isn't working, could you help me understand?" but you chose to think I did something wrong

@fracofavor

No, I do not think you have done something wrong. Your instance "mastodon.gal" -- may not have turned on the translate APIs in their install of Mastodon, for example.

@FediTips is a wonderful account, they may be able to explain how better than I.

Good luck on reaching more readers.

@kevinrns I honestly have no interest in reaching more readers but thanks

If your server offers translation features, there will be a "translate" button at the bottom of posts in other languages.

However, the translate feature depends on people choosing their own posting language correctly.

Also, your admin has to pay for the translation service as it depends on a third party service, so some of them may have it switched off. Ask your server's admin if you're not sure.
