@jscholes A new medium in the beginning always mimics its predecessor. TV programs in the beginning were just radio hosts reading their paper being filmed. Early cars looked like horse-drawn carriages without a horse.
Similarly, we still live in an age where a lot of electronic documents are laid out on a (virtual) piece of paper. If you use Word, of course you publish a PDF and not HTML.
