Can't seem to figure out how to subscribe to any blog via the fediverse, unless it's using writefree or write-as or whatever else mastodon will be friendly with in the search bar.

@micahflee I think this is 100% a good idea, but it will have to wait for me. I do exactly one thing on Substack: serially publish a science fiction novel, which will be complete this spring. I have about four readers, including 1 paid reader. I moved it once already, from Kindle Vella, and I don’t want to go through that again. But for future projects, I’ll be looking into Ghost.

There are lots of people they won’t go near Substack and I don’t like the idea of being on the platform but for a few people whose views I want to see.

If you put your content on one of these commercial platforms and it’s some bald garden, the content is not yours. The audience is not yours that is not a town square. And in an instant everything that you might’ve worked for or cared about, can be taken away from you or simply be censored into the ground.
