What, exactly, is Capi?
Capi began as a fork of the TIC-80 virtual machine. However, it then went off rapidly in an entirely different direction. Where TIC-80 is focused on small, single-file pixel art games, running on a cross-platform VM, Capi is growing into an actual operating system (written in C) which runs on bare metal on a Raspberry Pi 3, 4, 400, or 5. Capi programs are written in Lua.
As it grows, Capi will bear less and less resemblance to TIC-80; this is by design, as it is intended to take the internal framework of TIC-80, and use it to do something quite different.

If this doesn’t exist it should, damn it:
A Linux distro which provides no user land or interface at all, beyond the minimum needed to support a single full screen application. From the user’s perspective, the computer goes from the BIOS/UEFI screen right to the application.
This would be for encapsulating things like emulators or fantasy consoles like PICO-8.

Nobody hates computers as much as someone who loves computers.

Idea for someone more interested and energetic than I, feel free to take it and run:
A mastodon client that runs on an ESP32 via wifi, and exposes a text-stream API over serial that any old computer can use with native code to display and interact with the Fediverse as they like.

Which upgrade will give me more immediate benefit, a Broadwell Xeon with more cores (Maybe go from 2x6 to 2x14?), or another 64GB of RAM?

So, I now own the 18-55mm kit lens, and a nifty fifty 50mm prime f1.8 lens for my Canon DSLR. What other EF/EF-S lenses do you think would be most useful and inexpensive? What should I keep my eye out for?

Young folks won’t remember this, but back when I was the pimply faced youth, comparatively little of your Internet time was in a web browser. You’d use a lot of distinct protocols and clients. You’d read threads on Usenet (basically Reddit but ancient), chat on IRC (think Discord but not terrible), browse file archives in an FTP client, read your email in a POP3 client. The Web was just static HTML pages. Even CSS wasn’t a thing yet, you can forget JavaScript.
The drive to pack everything into a web browser makes me physically ill. Every web app makes the world worse by existing. Not to be elitist, but I genuinely think that web apps mostly exist to keep shitty programmers who can't handle C employed.
