Föderation · Mi 12.07.2023 16:55:15 [hangs head] We shouldn't need cookie popups. Ever. GDPR does not specify you need cookie popups. It specifies you need *consent* to collect private data. "What private data?" you ask. All the crap which goes to Google Analytics. You don't need a cookie popup if you don't use intrusive analytics. |
Föderation · Mi 12.07.2023 18:32:27 @socketwench is there a way to block them or just dismiss them? I really can’t stand them. |
Föderation · Mi 12.07.2023 20:26:50 I open a private window for anything I am unsure of, click accept knowing the moment I close the window everything disappears. I also use a cookie manager that wipes the cookies every 10 mins for all sites except the ones I actually want to remain logged into. |
Föderation · Mi 12.07.2023 22:58:17 @kel @Fogmeister @socketwench that cookie manager sounds like a good idea. Maybe it's something that @Vivaldi would like to implement (Vivaldi already lets you manage the cookies manually, I'm talking about letting you choose which cookies to keep and delete automatically everything else every so often). Tracking is disabled by default. |
Föderation · Do 13.07.2023 17:46:03 @FearlessJuan @kel @Fogmeister @socketwench We have implemented a "Cookie Crumbler" a while back: https://vivaldi.com/blog/vivaldi-crumbles-cookie-dialogs-raises-privacy/. |
Föderation · Do 13.07.2023 20:43:11 @Vivaldi @kel @Fogmeister @socketwench thank you. The Cookie Crumbler is not available in MacOS, is it? |
Föderation · Fr 14.07.2023 15:23:08 @FearlessJuan Are you not seeing those two lists in your Ad Blocking Sources? |
Föderation · Fr 14.07.2023 21:51:45 @Vivaldi I do not. In the Mac I see the following under Ad Blocking Sources: Same thing on my Windows PC. |
Föderation · Di 18.07.2023 17:12:24 @FearlessJuan These lists should be included by default (disabled), but you can also add them manually: |
Föderation · Di 18.07.2023 17:29:14 @Vivaldi any idea why I don't see them natively? I cannot be the only one. I have the latest versions installed. |
