I just upgraded to F-Droid 1.20.1, before I saw the advice to wait for 1.21.1. Do I need to be worried, or do/ not do anything?

I also see the vulnerability warnings on Fennec F-Droid and Mull, telling me to uninstall. Do I really need to do that, or just avoid using them until patched updates are shipped?

@strypey @fdroidorg for mull if you have fdroid as the preferred repo, you'll see that

Please drag divestos to the top of the repo list

I presume you're referring to a repo for a custom ROM? Does it have the same policy as F-Droid of only shipping apps under licenses that respect our software freedoms?

@strypey
you can ask the maintainer @divested

@cantences suggested I ask you.

Hmm, no response from the DivestOS maintainer ( @divested), so I'll take that as a no. If I didn't care about that, I'd just use the @IzzyOnDroid repo. No offence untended to the workers of either project, we just have different priorities.

More motivation to get a fresh OS working on my PinePhone ...

@strypey
The license of all the apps included in the DivestOS repositories is noted accurately in the metadata and here divestos.org/pages/our_apps. All apps are built from source and are fully FOSS with the exception of Chromium-based Mulch Browsers which contains the proprietary Google Play Services library.

I could not respond to you timely because notifications have been broken: github.com/mastodon/mastodon-a

Good to know. Thanks. Repo added. I avoid Chromium-based stuff anyway, so no worries there.

@divested @strypey to chime in, as I was pinged: at IzzyOnDroid we provide the APKs built & signed by the developers. But we perform thorough scanning on them. non-FOSS components are tolerated at best, but even then only within limits and always pointed out with the NonFreeComp anti-feature. Further, more than every 4th app (25.7% as of now) is covered by our reproducible builds (checked on our own as well as on 3rd party builders). @cantences @PINE64
