The @matrix is moving away from Patreon. But the interesting part is that they are moving to Donorbox with minimum donation of £5 per month.

I personally find this limit unacceptable and even too high. Biw the question is, would you donate £5 or more to Matrix?

@Mehrad It's still possible to donate at lower levels, that's just on a different page: donorbox.org/keep-matrix-excit

We linked to both in the Patreon announcement but on reflection it was not clear. We will edit the post to make it more clear.

Thanks for your support!

Thanks for the response, but as the matter of fact you didn't link to both. I click on both mentions (paragraph 4 and 7) and both have minimum of £5 monthly or £60 annual. Do you want me to forward you the Patreon email I got?

Also, why this platform doesn't support € or $? It alway show me British pounds.

@Mehrad Hrmm, ok thanks for catching that. The post has been updated for clarity! Sorry for getting that wrong in the first place.

Thanks also for the note about currency. Our other supporter form includes several currencies and we'll correct the membership form so that it also supports multiple currencies.

Well, several things went wrong in one single announcement 🤔. Perhaps you should reconsider your procedures for publishing and announcements as apparently there is not enough checks in place.

It would also be nice to know why you chose Donorbox instead of OpenCollective or even the better one: @Liberapay (which is FLOSS itself and doesn't take commission from you). Transparency is always important imho.
