Föderation EN Do 19.12.2024 00:44:07 I'm testing out the new 0.9.0 release of #Tuba by @Tuba. I have never really used desktop clients for Mastodon on my actual computer. I usually just do things through a browser mostly because literally no desktop client supports any of the Admin portions of an instance. Not really a lot of reasons they should, and the handful of people out there that would use that just isn't enough motivation. Still, this is pretty nice from a normal user perspective. I think I'll keep it around for a while. |

Föderation EN Do 19.12.2024 01:27:41 @RL_Dane Yea, Tuba is really nice, but I'll probably primarily stick to the web UI for previously stated reasons. Also, I use the Advanced UI when I'm not in the Admin stuff. I don't think there's anything out there client wise that lets you do columns like that. I've got 13 columns active at all times, and even clients that follow the column paradigm usually cut you off before that. |

Is there some documentation or something that would treat me like I'm a child and walk me through this step by step? |

Föderation EN Sa 21.12.2024 07:46:09 @mike we need to request admin permissions so when adding your account, click the cog at the end of the instance entry and enable "Admin". After adding the account, there should be an "Admin Dashboard" entry in the main menu! Beware that Mastodon's Admin API is limited compared to what the web client can do so I wouldn't recommend it as a replacement for an instance as big and active as fosstodon. |

Thank you! Saying that Mastodon's Admin API is "limited" is pretty diplomatic. Still, I really appreciate someone making an effort. Thank you! |
