You just need to remember that it's the browser you want to use all year round - spring, summer, autumn and winter.

@bananabob I recall having seen some rumblings, but in this case I'm just applying the lesser evil principle. I want to live and operate as far away from stochastic parrots as possible and anything I can do to deny them oxygen is a win.

@hareldan @phil_stevens @Vivaldi There is no explicit "risk" involved building one's browser on Chromium – in fact quite the opposite, esp. on Android and Linux (comp. https://grapheneos.org/usage#web-browsing )

However, it does foster the monopolistic position of Chromium's engine in contrast to it's only major competitor (that is in fact quite marginal) with Mozilla's Firefox. The marginal share is also in itself problematic for privacy.
