Föderation EN Mi 20.11.2024 22:52:18 Anyone running multiple #Fediverse services on one domain, but using user@dmn.tld for identification instead of user@mstdn.dmn.tld or user@pxlfd.dmn.tld? How do you handle #Webfinger responses in these cases? My current experience is that regardless of service used, the service will always direct users to the first profile in the webfinger response (using pxlfed but getting a users mstdn profile), which sure seems like a #bug to me. |
Föderation EN Mi 20.11.2024 23:03:44 @sfunk1x I think https://swicg.github.io/activitypub-webfinger/ says: "Take the first matching entry in `links`" And RFC7033 says: "How the client interprets the information SHOULD be in accordance with the particular application specification or set of specifications the client implements." https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc7033#section-8.5 So I think it's not a bug, it's just how the ActivityPub spec handles these cases. |
Tusky EN Do 21.11.2024 07:56:46 How do you expect this to work, if a #Webfinger request is done to user@domain and you give two answers a.domain/user and b.domain/user? Or did i miss something? Looks to me, that you want to run two instances using one namespace?! |
