@jcrabapple @cliffwade It does seem a little pricy doesn’t it? Perhaps it is due to...
- They host/support A LOT of different platforms. This complexity (unlike masto.host) probably means extra cost.
- They are also much newer, Masto.host has things pretty smoothed out, automated, etc... probably helps reduce cost compared to spacehost
- Probably better to over-price to start and lower it from there rather than be forced to raise prices on people later?

@shellsharks The offering of so many services could certainly be it. However, if I click on Mastodon, and go with the 100 user plan, I still don't think that alone should be $106. I'm not saying it needs to be dirt cheap, but I think that $106 is just too much.

Depending on your needs, you could theoretically and if you have the network capacity host your own instance at home if you have some spare hardware. I'm considering this as a project...
