Just updated Anubis to v1.23.0 and it looks like something has changed

Looking at the timelines from Tusky or Tuba, the timelines would not update. However the web UI of my GoToSocial instance still works fine. Checked the Anubis log and it looked like my Anubis was sending challenges to Tusky, Tuba and even to other fedi servers (Mastodon etc)

So anyway I fixed it 🤞 by creating new configuration file: /usr/local/share/doc/anubis/data/apps/allow-api-routes.yaml:

And another one: /usr/local/share/doc/anubis/data/apps/allow-user-routes.yaml:

And then adding the new configurations to /etc/anubis/<gotosocial_service_name>.botPolicies.yaml:

bots:
  ...
  - import: /usr/local/share/doc/anubis/data/apps/allow-api-routes.yaml
  - import: /usr/local/share/doc/anubis/data/apps/allow-user-routes.yaml
  ...

Restarted the Anubis service, and it works again after that. Dunno if that that is even the correct way to do it though. Hopefully i haven't weakened anything

Found out how easy it is to *preview* and *schedule* posts today.

Mastodon has a schedule api so you don't need to be online at the time, just a client that supports it:

Tusky and Tuba can both do this.

To preview a post you can send a direct message to no one. Then if happy redraft it and make public:

https://fedi.tips/creating-draft-posts-on-mastodon/

Preview is useful to see exactly how media will look when posted.

I'm stuck getting Tuba started on #Ubuntu

I get the error message:

"Error while searching for user accounts

If you didn't manually cancel it, try creating a #password keyring named "login" using Passwords and Keys (#seahorse) or KWalletManager"

Clicking Read More does the same as Close: the app shuts down

I've created a keyring in seahorse called 'login' and put my password in there under 'Mastodon'. I still get the same error

I'm testing out the new 0.9.0 release of #Tuba by @Tuba. I have never really used desktop clients for Mastodon on my actual computer. I usually just do things through a browser mostly because literally no desktop client supports any of the Admin portions of an instance. Not really a lot of reasons they should, and the handful of people out there that would use that just isn't enough motivation. Still, this is pretty nice from a normal user perspective. I think I'll keep it around for a while.
