I think your 'new' account name on Pixelfed is blocked, because you deleted it. Not sure how this is handled in the system, but you should try to reach for the admin by mail

@makeratschool @FediTips @sloanlance@pixelfed.social The thing is, I didn't delete my account on Pixelfed yet. I was going to, but I couldn't find a way to do it. I then searched for help and that's when I read that once an account is deleted, its username can't be reused on the server. That's when I decided to stop and ask for advice.

The username can't be reused because they don't want people impersonating others.

But your username on a Fedi account isn't just the first part, it's the second part too. Your identity is a Fediverse address which mentions your server too. There's more info here:
