Föderation EN Do 27.03.2025 14:14:04 There should be a generalized #activityPub client protocol, so that I can add my blog and my #flohmarkt instance and react to DMs and comments from a single app |
Tusky EN Do 27.03.2025 17:04:34 #ActivityPub defines client to server communication. #Mastodon is using its own client #API and several others are providing a more or less compatible API. This post was written using #Tusky using the Mastodon Client API using a #Mammuthus instance using ActivityPub to federate... 😉 |
Föderation DE Do 27.03.2025 18:03:50 @nick does that mean it's possible already? |
Whalebird · Do 27.03.2025 19:07:04 Depends on your needs... :-) Implementations of #ActivityPub usually seems to just use the server to server communication. But the #Mastodon Client #API is used also in other projects, at least some endpoints. Regarding flohmarkt, maybe you want to contact @grindhold@23.social (the developer) regarding support of client APIs. P.S.: If you want to read more about ActivityPub, you may want to start with |
Föderation DE Do 27.03.2025 19:37:05 @nick I don't really know how to interpret your answers tbh … What use is linking me the standard and giving me the contact of a good friend of mine 😌 |
Whalebird · Do 27.03.2025 21:47:07 There exist a lot of apps, that make use of the #Mastodon Client #API. There may exist some using #ActivityPub C2S... and some using some other kind of API. If you want to use one app with accounts on several server (or instance) types, the app (client) and the servers need to support the same type of API. As one of them is flohmarkt and Grindhold is a friend of you, maybe just ask him regarding the API possibilities. Then you could see, if there is already an app existing, that supports all your wanted server types. |
